I am pretty sure everyone needs a little pick me up after a day of shoveling, and if the rest of winter is anything like the past few weeks, then we'll all be feeling pretty pent up by April and itching for spring. On that note...
I am so pleased to announce the first Patterson Park Patter (P3) giveaway today! The lovely PR people of the Maryland Home & Garden Show are giving me four tickets to give away to you, my lovely readers. I'll be giving them away in two pairs -so if you don't win this round keep checking back for the next batch!
First some details about the show: First, the timing could NOT be better - May 6&7 and May 12-14. Notice that the dates surround our Home Tour? So perfect - you can really kick in to gear with ideas for your house and patio! With the show theme of "wine and dine alfreso" you're sure to see tons of ideas to make the most of your outdoor space. And don't worry that you won't see anything but rolling pastoral gardens - the 19
landscaped gardens feature rowhouses as well! But don't think that the show is limited by the theme, since you can see 400 home improvement exhibits, attend various seminars and purchase plants and garden accessories.
Long story short(er), this is a great chance to meet the pros, get new ideas and pick up some unique items along the way. Oh yeah, and you can go for free!

With a new (to us but by no means New New) house in our near future, I don't even know where to begin!
First on our list is refinishing the floors and swapping out the old doorknobs and front doorknob/lock combo for for ones that actually close! Would love to get some inspiration for what to do with our new backyard though!
Oh my list never ends.... specific to my patio, I plan to acid wash and stain my patio this spring before I hook the drip irrigation system back up. Also have to stain and repair my fence. Fresh coats of paint on the window frames and doors. Indoors I'm doing closets and caulking and painting everything in sight... Pick me! Pick me!
I want a garden to grow food on on my little rowhouse second floor deck
I had a contractor out the Friday the evil came to measure my un-private cracked-concrete area in the back for a parking pad and new fence. By the Spring (if that white stuff ever melts!) I hope to have a little fenced in area for my grill and a little garden of edible and pretty plants.
Also should I mention that I am planning to go so carpooling is an option - make a day of it! :)
I'm looking forward to greening up my patio and deck once we thaw out!
